A much-needed update!

So WAY too many of my friends and family have been saying that they haven't seen anything posted on the blog lately... and in this flurry of recent wedding activity surrounding the mailing of our invitations, I suspect people will be visiting the blog too!

A few weekends ago Aaron, I and about 18 of my fellow residents and faculty went on our annual Marine Wilderness Survival Weekend. I am on the Wilderness Medicine Track at the residency and part of that training is to go on the Winter Survival Trip and the Marine Trip and learn the AWLS certification course as well among other required events. It was GREAT to get out of town- we left on a Thursday on a marine taxi to Suprise Cove Marine State Park, only reachable by boat, set up camp and over the next 4 days kayak-ed a TON, learned about marine survival and camped and cooked and had a great time. It did quite a bit of raining and it was a bit cold but we survived no worse for the wear but couldn't wait to get back to town in the end!

So this weekend we had a bit of fun- we had a booth at the Saturday Market, a local fair here in Anchorage. We sold my butterfly jewelry, and a fellow residents' husband joined in the fun and sold some homemade puzzles. Pics to come soon. I promise...

Saturday night was Sarah's Bachelorette Party with some of her fellow residents (who has friends outside of the residency?!) and had a great time- we were joined by 26 Belgian mountaineers who were finishing their climb here in the Wrangell mountain range, and had a blast teasing them and getting way too mnay drinks paid for and kisses on the cheeks... great times but hard party-ing. I admit to not having THAT much fun since graduation last May from med school!
