The fruits of Nature...

One of the great things about living in Alaska is that it seems to always have something to be harvested from the wilderness... clearly we have taken advantage of those items from the sea... clams, red salmon, silver salmon, pink slamon, king salmon and even seaweed! Sarah got sick on the local sushi so she is staying away. The forests also have much to eat too, and we've eaten bear, moose, caribou, morel mushrooms (maybe?) and now the berries of the woods too- salmonberries, blueberries, crowberries and HUGE succulent raspberries from my back yard! Our garden didn't do too well this year, but we've been feasting on herbs, lettuces and my lone tomatoe plant here at the house. As the days get colder and the trees start to turn colors (yes, allready!) we are going to miss the abundant morsels from our Alaskan wilderness. We have a freezer full of caribou from Lucas and red and silver salmon from Brandon and Dad so we are set for treats for the winter!

Aaron and Lucas hold up some of their catch from the late-night Pink Salmon catch out of Ressurrection Creek by our favorite place, Hope. Sarah caught just a few more than they did...

Sarah-
You could be a food stylist if you ever decide to stop the whole doctoring thing...
