One last snow-less adventure...

So today I treated Aaron to his first white-water rafting trip down the Six-Mile Creek outside of Hope. He has been working so hard at the oil rig out in Kenai and its one of our few free weekends now until Christmas. All I have to say is that it sure was an adventure. A wet, rainy day but no better way to spend it than floating down a Class 3/4 river in a boat while the poplars change to their yellow hues before your eyes. It was a beautiful fall day- a reminder that the snow is coming soon enough! We managed to raft with the guide through 2 of the 3 famous canyons, but we chickened out on the third, got out, and watched later as two of the boats flipped over at a Class 5! Good call Aaron! So, a great day floating in the fall wilderness of Alaska, but we are not thinking that we are going to go out on open water until next summer!
